Jimmy C. Altman, 71, passed away May 28, 2011 in a Kingstree hospital after a sudden illness.
Mr. Altman was born in Vox, SC, a son of the late William Dot and Vera Florence Eaddy Altman. He was a retired Construction Coordinator for 3 V Chemical Company, a member of the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended the Johnsonville Church of God. He was a graduate of Florence county schools and was a member of the Tri County Senior Citizens Golf Group.
Surviving are his wife, Erma Jewel Cox Altman of the home; children, Brian (Shana) Altman of Johnsonville and Gay Altman of Hemingway; sister, Judy (Gerald) Hanna) of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Lamar Cox, Ashley Cooper, Nicki Humphries, John Altman and Briley Altman; 5 great-grandchildren; and his best friend, his bull dog Bocephus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday May 31, 2011 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway with burial in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 PM to 7 PM Monday May 30, 2011.
