Annie Elizabeth Wilson Munnerlyn, 93, wife of the late Jamie Doar Munnerlyn, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at home in Georgetown County.
She was born in Mayesville, S.C., the daughter of the late George David Wilson and Annie Laurie Witherspoon Wilson.
Annie Elizabeth was a graduate of Mayesville High School and a 1944 graduate of Columbia College where she majored in English.
On April 8, 1950, she married the love of her life, Jamie, and moved to the Rose Hill community where she remained for the rest of her life. She was a teacher at Pleasant Hill Elementary School for many years. She was also an active member of Union United Methodist Church. ''Ms. Bet'' was an active caregiver to many of her friends and relatives.
Surviving are three sons, James David {Glenda) Munnerlyn, Royal Wilson (Carlin) Munnerlyn, George Edward (Robin) Munnerlyn. In addition are five grand-children, Christopher Carl (Katie) Munnerlyn, Justin David (Brittany) Munnerlyn, Kayla Munnerlyn (Jesse) Brantley, Jamie Royal Munnerlyn and Shay Lorraine Munnerlyn. Also surviving is her only sibling, Dorothy Wilson (Edward) Latimer of Columbia, S.C.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church, 8209 Rose Hill Road, Georgetown, S.C. 29440. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, S.C. will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. in the church social hall.
