Hemingway, SC

Arlet W. Hughes, 86, husband of Rachel Feagin Hughes, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 in a Florence hospital.

Mr. Arlet was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Richard Anderson and Getha Myrtle Hughes. He was a retired construction superintendent for the M B Kahn    Construction company, a member of the Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Gideon's International.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rachel Feagin Hughes; son, Andy (Angie) Hughes; granddaughters, Heather (Michael) Dennis and Kylie (Will) Tanner; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Meghan, and Hayden Dennis, Zeke and A. J. Tanner; brother, Carroll (Sara) Hughes; sisters, Rebecca Dunahoe, and Lydia Woffard; sister-in-law, Sarah M. Hughes; special sister and brother-in law, Cherry and Dozier Tanner.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Ned and Jack Hughes and a sister, Mary Nell Milling.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 14, 2020 in the Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 800 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 330 N. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
