Hemingway, SC

Ashton James Venters, 92, widower of Emily Deloris Dennis Venters, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 in a Conway hospital.

Mr. Ashton was born in Johnsonville, a son of the late Andrew James and Nolie Haselden Venters. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a Lifetime member of Indiantown Masonic Lodge # 165, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved both hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his son, Jeff (Patty) Venters; daughter, Windy Vance; grandsons, Adam (Ashlyn) Venters and Cody James Venters; faithful companion, Marcella "Rusty" Russ.
He was predeceased by granddaughter, Jada Vance; grandson, Jacob Brady Venters; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 in the Liberty Southern Christian Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church,1760 Pope Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 in the Liberty Southern Christian Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1277 Pope Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.

In lieu of flowers, Large print Western Books donated to the Johnsonville Public Library, 242 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
