Obituary

Georgetown, SC

Barrett Jacob Frick, 15, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at his home.

Barrett was born in Florence, SC, a son of Jacob (Jay) Frick and Courtney Timmons Anderson. He was a rising sophomore at Georgetown High School.

There's never a person that could light up a room quite like Barrett. It isn't just because of his electric, red hair. His kind, yet quietly entertaining, personality was expressed through his piercing blue eyes and boyish grin. When anyone attempts to describe Barrett, while they might note his sweet mannerisms and charming smile, the conversation always went back to his signature look - bright, curly red hair. His baby freckles eventually faded but his mischievous grin remained the same.

Anyone that knew Barrett well was a recipient of his tightly squeezed hugs and gentle "I love you" whispered during release. He had the ability to conversate with anyone at any age. Children adored him, his friends thought the world of him, and adults appreciated how respectful he was. Barrett was brilliant and gifted. He excelled in school, but was more interested in the lessons he could learn from living his life to the fullest. He was always up for anything, especially an adventure.

One of Barrett's best qualities was being a big brother. His little brother and sister were so loved by him. Barrett never hesitated when he was asked to do one more push on the swing or swim like a shark in the pool. He was always willing to help with his younger siblings and they adored him too.

There are not enough words to describe how much Barrett is loved and what an impact he had on everyone around him. If you or someone you know is suffering with depression, please seek help. Just like Barrett, you're loved much more than you may ever imagine.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Courtney and Taylor Anderson; father and step-mother, Jay and Allie Frick; brother, Henry Anderson; sister, Emma Jean Frick; grandparents, Robyn and Roy Jones, Ron and Melissa Timmons, Neal and Joyce Anderson, Barry and Marie Frick, and Marylynn and Herman Hagwood; aunts and uncles, Heather and Hughes Page, Michael Hagwood, and Courtney and Elliott Koonce, Noah, Carter, and Lindsey Timmons; cousins, Neal and Grady Koonce and Oliver Page; great-grandmother, Noveleen Culick; special friends, "The Windsor Boys" along with many other adored family members and friends.
