Hemingway, SC

Basil R. Cribb, 87, widower of Vonceil Cribb, passed away February 22, 2022 in a Florence hospital.

Mr. Basil was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Hollie Perry and Mary Blanche Cribb. He was retired from Wellman Industries as a lead electrician and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Indiantown Masonic Lodge #165 and the Omar Shrine.

He enjoyed farming, cutting grass and working in his yard, and loved going to car shows.

He is survived by his sister, Reverda (Wesley) Wicker; nieces, Lenora Avant Sullivan, Michelle Avant, Donna W. (Hal) James, Debbie Altman and a nephew, Hollie (Julie) Wicker; 6 great-nieces and great nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Vera Mae (Wesley) Avant.

Funeral services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 26, 2022 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial, with full Masonic Rites, will be in the church cemetery, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, February 25, 2022 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr.,

Hemingway, SC 29554 or at other times at his home, 1452 Blanche Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.
