Beverly Jo Williams Baxley, 90, widow of James Edward Baxley, Sr., passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 in a Lexington, SC rehabilitation facility.

Mrs. Baxley was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late James Patrick "Jim" Williams, Sr. and the late Grace Butler Williams. She was a devoted member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church, where she was honored for 50 years of faithful teaching in 2013. She was also a member of The Sunshine Book Club. Activities that she enjoyed included cooking, reading, and gardening.

Surviving are her children, Sally Grace (Barry) Elliott, Anita Jo (Richard) Bennett, Meredith Anne (Bernard) Gooding, James Edward (Elizabeth) Baxley, Jr. and Beverly Patricia (Glen) Hill; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, James Patrick "Jimmy" Williams, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 3, 2017 in the Hemingway First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Hemingway First Baptist Church, 200 E. George St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
