Bobby Shannon Thomas, 45, passed away in Columbia on Monday, February 23, 2025.

The youngest son of Sharon T. Edwards and Charles Richard Thomas, Bobby was born on March 23, 1980, in Florence, South Carolina.  He grew up in the Johnsonville community and attended Florence School District Five Schools during his childhood.  He later earned a GED.  Throughout his life, Bobby enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and swimming. He also enjoyed immersing himself in the world of books through his love of reading.  One of his favorite past-times was telling jokes and making people laugh.

Bobby is lovingly survived by his mother, Sharon (Kelly) Edwards; his father, Charles Richard Thomas; his son, Brandon Thomas; his brother, Ricky (Michele) Thomas; his maternal Uncle Delwynn Hanna and his children Abigail Hanna, Alijah Hanna; cousins Kacie and Cody Nations; paternal grandmother, Barbara Thomas; his Aunt, Donna (Sam) Howell and her children Samantha Tanner and Donnie Howell; and his Aunt Sheri (Monroe) Feagin and her children Arnie Poston, Marion Poston, and Annie Baylor.

Bobby was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Laura Jean and Cecil Hanna; his maternal grandfather, Joe "Bubba" McDaniel; his paternal grandfather, Marion Thomas; and his Aunt April Nations.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.

Burial will follow at the home: 228  Bubba's Lane, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
