Hemingway, SC

Carolyn Faye Cox, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in the MUSC Health Black River Medical Center.

Mrs. Faye was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Doris and Dorothy Irma Lee Cribb Cox. She was a member of the Hemingway First United Methodist Church, she loved reading her Bible and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Faye will always be remembered as a sweet and kind Christian woman who was always willing to help others.

She is survived by a son, Dean Thomas of Hemingway; daughters, Kimberly Thomas of Hemingway, Wendy (Anthony) Hyman of Georgetown, and Tammy (Guy) Webb of Florida; sisters, Frances Cox Howell of Hemingway and Darlene Cox Webb of Indiana; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Faye was predeceased by a sister Jean Cox Wells.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 28, 2023 in the Hemingway First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Broad St. Hemingway, SC 29554. Burial will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends at Hemingway First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Broad St, Hemingway, SC  29554 1 hour prior to the service.
