Cecil Lloyd Cooper, 71, passed away at McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Cecil was born in Florence, SC, the eldest child of Samuel (Lloyd) and Wildred Ann Cooper.  In August, 1982 he opened M&M Motors in Hemingway, SC which he has proudly ran with his family for the last 44 years.  He spent most of his days at his shop and was at his happiest when he rode his tractors and moved cars.

He was the loving father to and is survived by daughters, Marie (Tommy) Barnes and Marsha (Davy) Conner as well as the being the proud Papa to Macy (Jesse) Tompkins, Hanna Barnes, Janna Grace Conner, and Owen Barnes.  His family was the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget McCoy Cooper; his sister, Debbie (Ernie) Johnson; his brother, Ricky (Diane) Cooper; the mother of his children, Janice Cooper; sisters-in-laws Hazel Abrams and Sarah Powell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his parents; his infant son, Jeffery Cecil Cooper; and sisters-in-laws Virginia and Dianne Abrams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church located at 4221 Sheminally Road, Pamplico, SC, 29583.  Burial will follow at Old Landing Cemetery, Old Landing Road, Pamplico, SC, 29583.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, SC  29554.
