CHAD "FAT RAT" RANDALL HATCHELL

Chad "Fat Rat" Randall Hatchell, 50, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at his home.

Chad was born in Marion, SC, a son of Geraldine "Geri" Reason Hatchell and the late Ranny Fricen Hatchell. He worked as an electrician for Silver Leaf Construction, a member of Kingsburg Baptist Church, and he was an avid Clemson Fan.

Chad grew up much like all the neighborhood kids on Marion street. He enjoyed summer passes to the Johnsonville swimming pool, riding bikes to West Side Groceries, for candy and drinks and playing outside till dark. Motorcycles, Atari, and BB guns were a big part of those childhood days along with arguing why he had to be the one to get up and change the channel from Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed coon hunting, duck hunting, fishing, playing golf, having a good time, but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Michelle Sauls Hatchell; mother, Geraldine "Geri" R. Hatchell; children, Olivia (Trae) Gaster, Roxi (David) Powell, Lance (Carma) Matthews and Shaina (Courtney) Matthews; sister, Amy H.  (Darman) Weaver; grandchildren, Sarah, Georganna, Matisyn, Matthew, Alexcys, Laney, Kenlyn, Adalynn, and Autumn; brother-in-law, Tray (Dana) Sauls.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 15, 2020 in the Kingsburg Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 114 E. Trinity Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the Kingsburg Baptist Church, 1730 Old River Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555 or at other times at the home of his mother, Geraldine "Geri" Hatchell, 330 W. Marion St., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
