Charles Durant Cantey, 70, passed away at his home in Johnsonville on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

Charles was born in Florence, SC, one of three sons of the late Boyd Durant and Christine Fitch Cantey.   He was a member of the Johnsonville High School Class of 1972.  After graduation he attended Erskine College.  He later worked as a troubleshooter for Tupperware Manufacturing Company in Hemingway and as a supervisor for Precision Southeast in Marion.  During his younger years Charles enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.

Charles is survived by one brother, Rusty Cantey.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest brother, Darry Wade Cantey and a nephew, Dustin Boyd Cantey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery located at 800 S Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, SC, 29555.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
