Charles Albert Shelley, 80, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, in a Georgetown Hospital.

Mr. Charles was born in Loma Linda, CA, a son of the late Ishmael P. and Mary Thompkins Shelley. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Albertsons' Supermarket where he worked as a manager. Mr. Charles was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed driving his tractor, fishing, and flying.

He is survived by a son, Charles (Tammy) Shelley; daughter, Katrina Burlake; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Jesse (Joyce) Shelley and Anthony (Marilyn) Shelley; sister, Sandra Shelley; and a close family friend, Hank Richardson.

He was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Shelley.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 30, 2021, in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 5542 Carvers Bay Rd, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
