Clarence Webster "Coot" Altman, Jr., 83, husband of Fannie Bell Cooper Altman, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Coot was born in Johnsonville, SC, a son of the late Clarence Webster Altman, Sr. and the late Gracie Stone Altman. He was the owner and operator of Altman's Garage, and a member of Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, going to the mountains, loved his family and his dog Stewie, but above all else he loved God and was a dedicated servant to his church and his community for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fannie Bell Cooper Altman; Children, Lisa (Wade) Coward, Wendy (James) McDonald, and Jeremy (Hayley) Altman; daughter-in-law, Julie Altman Lyles; grandchildren, Lindsey Coward, Olivia (Will) Adams, Ethan (Alice) McDonald, Ashlyn (Blake) Fowler, and Madelyn Altman; great-grandsons, Cooper and Boone; brother, Billy (Shirley) Altman; sister, Sue (Sheldon) Reid and Francis (Dale) Koonce.
He was predeceased by a son, Scotty Altman.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 14, 2021 in the Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Eaddy Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy Ford Cemetery Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, February 14, 2021 in the Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 487 S. Firestation Rd, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
Memorials may be made to Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Mary Altman, 81 Whispering Pines, Hemingway SC 29554.
