Mrs. Cornelia Howell Ray, 87, widow of ML Ray, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, SC.

Mrs. Cornelia was a member of Freedom Tabernacle.  Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking and had a special talent for "taking half of nothing and making a four course meal."  She also enjoyed crafting, especially quilting, and gardening.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with grands.

Mrs. Cornelia is survived by a son, Gale (Denise) Ray; a grandson, Tyler (Margaret) Ray; a great-granddaughter-to-be, Baby "Bernie" Ray; and multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cornelia was predeceased by a grandson, Garrett Ray; a special nephew, Kirk Owens; brothers, Charles Howell, Roger Howell, Larry Howell, David Howell, and Nathan "Boss Man; and sisters, Faye Hewitt, Betty McKenzie, Carrie Owens, and Penny Howell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 86 Williams Hill Road, Hemingway, SC,  29554.   Burial will take place in the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
