Daisy Williams-McGowan, 68, widow of James A. McGowan, Jr., passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at her home.

Daisy was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Rev. Liston T. Williams, Sr. and the late Freeda Wise Williams. She was a retired school teacher/administrator with the Georgetown County School Systems and was a member of the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

She enjoyed going to the beach, shopping, socializing, and staying in touch with family and friends. She also had a true love and passion for jewelry, fashion, and home décor. She will be remembered for her beauty, humor, and infectious smile.

Daisy is survived by her children, Scarlett (Gene) Broome and Jared (Roni) Poston; grandchildren, Logan, Bladen, Cullen, Lily, and Camilla; brothers, Liston Williams, Jr. and Darry (Brenda) Williams; sister, Deborah (Charles) Owens and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Scarlet Williams, Sandra Hucks, and Wanda Douglas; sister-in-law, Louetta Williams.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
