Mr. David Carol Stone, Sr. 85, husband of Mary Lyerly Stone, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

David was born in Hemingway SC, a son of the late William Chapman and Ruth Nettles Stone. He was a man of great faith, a member of the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, and worked many years as a supervisor for Wellman Industries. He enjoyed singing, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles with his friends, and also found pleasure in searching for Indian artifacts in the fields throughout the area in his spare time. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his children, David (Karen) Stone, Jr., Debbie (Mike) Garrelts, Melinda (Chris) Graham, Daniel (Sharon) Stone, Ruthie (Terry) Marlowe; step-children, Debbie (Lee) Gray, Kim (Leon) Neighbors, and Ronnie Lewis;

18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Tim (Shirley) Stone, Kathy Stone, and Linda Fennell.

He was predeceased by his son Darwin Lenair "Spanky" Stone and 6 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday January 5, 2025 at 2 PM in the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, 213 N. Halfmoon Road, Lake City, SC 29560. Burial conducted by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway will be in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, 860 Lake Chapel Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service in the Church Sanctuary.
