Dawn McAndrew Avant, 54, wife of Mark Avant, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at her home.

Dawn was born in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of Mary Bryant McAndrew and the late James Joseph McAndrew, II She worked as a Registered Nurse at Georgetown Memorial Hospital with a BA in Nursing and was a member of the Center Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching baseball, traveling, helping others, but most of all she loved spending time with family especially her children.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Mark Avant; sons, Jeremy Avant and Jordan Avant; mother, Mary Bryant McAndrew; sister, Eve M. Badger (Brian); a special thanks to friends, Kay Powell, Betty Wells, and Brittany Griffin for all of their support during this time and also a special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice nurses, Carter Walker and Remella Anderson for their care during this time.

She was predeceased by a brother, James Joseph "JJ" McAndrew, III.

Funeral services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Center Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Center Baptist Church, 2602 Schoolhouse Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.
