Hemingway, SC

Derrick Lynn Marsh, 57, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in a Georgetown hospital.

Derrick was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Clinton and Mildred Ard Marsh. He worked as a carpenter in the construction industry, was a member of Freedom Tabernacle but attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a truly talented singer, enjoyed caring for his dog, Lucy, but most all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Madison Marsh (Rev. Kevin B. Howard); sisters, Vicki Tanner and Levette (Jimmy) Lewis; brother, Italy (Molly) Marsh; sister-in-law, Thel Marsh; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, William C. Marsh and a sister, Helen Conner Prox.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Freedom Tabernacle. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2022 at Freedom Tabernacle, 264 Roy Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.
