Dorothia Baxley Thompson, 94, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 in a Summerville Hospice House.

Dorothia was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Fleetwood O. and Sudie Humphries Baxley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, choir member, a member of Her Majesty's Choir, and retired from the Gates Rubber Co. in Moncks Corner, SC.

She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, fishing, singing in the church choir, visiting and singing at nursing homes, watching "Her Boys" the Clemson Tigers Football Team and her favorite NFL player Tom Brady, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce T. Tanner (Bobby James) and Teresa T. (Fred) Taylor; sisters, Genevieve "Genny" (Bob) Bennett and Janie Lou Morris; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Johnny Tanner; sisters, Miriam Altman and Willa Dean "Wicky" Holt; brothers, Thomas Baxley, Allen Ward Baxley, and Dathan Baxley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 860. S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 16 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
