Dorothy Brewer Cox, 77, widow of Ronald L. Cox Sr., passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in a Charleston Hospital.

Mrs. Dorothy was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Dewey Brewer, Sr. and the late Helen Thompson Brewer. She was a member of the Hemingway First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the owner and operator of D & D Enterprise Car Crushing.

Surviving are her daughters, Hope (Jimmy) Grimball and Veronica (Jerry) Elliott; grandchildren, Ronald Lamar Cox, III, Garth Elliott, Holly Grimball, Jessica (Jordy) Lewis, and Blakeley Elliott; great-granddaughters, Melody Cox and Brittany Cox; great-grandsons, Carson Grimball, Drake Grimball, and James Walton Lewis; loved as her own granddaughters, Jennifer Hanna and Christina Hanna; brother, Dewey Brewer, Jr.; sisters, Pam (Junior) Matthews, Janice Nettles, and Patsy Detwiler.
She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Lamar Cox, Jr.; brother, Don Brewer.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC.
