Dorothy Hucks, 87, wife of Mr. Ladson LeRay "Ray" Hucks, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at her home.

Mrs. Dorothy was born in Vox, SC, a daughter of the late Charlie Givens and Carrie Olivia Marlow Nettles. She was a member of the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church, WMU, Clemson Extension Homemaker Club, and she volunteered both at hospitals and schools.

She enjoyed cooking, working with her flowers, watching westerns, but she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Mr. Ray Hucks; children, L.B.(Carole) Rogers and Leigh (Kevin) Leonard; step-children, Sharon Coker, Cynthia (Wesley) Rushing, Kenneth (Cynthia) Hucks, Tanya (Andy) Eaddy, and Janice (Craig) Powell; grandchildren, Mason Leonard, Jessie Leonard, and Charlie (Ashton) Rogers; step-grandchildren, Garth (Morgan) Williams, Christian Rushing, Nicholas (Nichole) Rushing, Kimberly (Jacob) Best, Jacqueline (Ryan) Riggins, Gary (Lindsey) Eaddy, Cody (Madison) Eaddy, Ethan Powell, and Chloe Powell and 1 great granddaughter, Lizzie Rogers and 10 step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband of 50 yrs., Mr. Louis Rogers; step-granddaughter Cayce Hucks; siblings, Robert Franklin Nettles, Mary Effie Owens, Evelyn Owens, Clydia Jo Holt, Eulee Altman, Joan Hughes, and Lottie Mae Doe.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2024, in the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 114 E. Trinity Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2024, in the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Agape Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Dorothy during her illness.
