Douglas Wayne Ard, 74, passed away at his home, Monday June 4, 2018.

Mr. Douglas was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Thomas Troy and Eulean Smith Ard. He was retired mechanic from Haselden Brothers Ford where he also did body work. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching westerns.

Surviving are his children, Chris Ard, Douglas Wayne (Vickie) Ard and Rhonda McElveen; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, O'Farrell (Evelyn) Ard and Thomas "Buddy" (Ann) Ard, Jr.; sisters, Cheryl (Calvin) Crews and Olean (Fred) Reinartz; special friend, Allen Lee.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Strickland; granddaughter, Tonya Evans; brother, Joseph Andrew Ard; sisters, Helen Louise Ard and Shelby J. Ryals.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Old Place Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
