Eliza Jean Hughes Edgeworth, 83, daughter of Joseph and Kate Duseubury Hughes and beloved wife of Rev. Norman Edgeworth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Norman Edgeworth, Sr. of the home; children, daughters, Jackie (Tom) Stasney, Renee (Glenn) Harrell and son, Keith (Debbie) Edgeworth; God Children, Rev. Norris and Betty Powell all of Johnsonville, SC; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Ulmer Snow (William) Hanna; brother, Lynwood Hughes; grandson, J. Sheldon Richardson; brother-in-law, L. H. Edgeworth, Jr.

She was a member of the FWBPF Conference, Gethsemane Church and was a life long member of New Hope Church. She was known as "Mama Jean" throughout the community. She ran Mama Jean's Day Care for 32 years.

Funeral services will be held at New Hope Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 and she will be laid to rest in the New Hope Cemetery, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2019 in the New Hope Church Sanctuary, 719 N. New Hope Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
