Elizabeth "Beth" Dennis Altman, 97, widow of Homer H. Altman, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at McLeod Health Hospice in Florence, SC following a short illness. She was born in the Muddy Creek Community of Williamsburg County, SC, a daughter of the late George W. and Jessie Powell Dennis.

She was a member of Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years where she carried on the Dennis family tradition by her devotion to serving her church and its members. She loved her Lord, her family, her church and her church family. She was known as "Granny" to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild and she cherished everyone of them dearly.

Surviving are her daughters, Joan Hatchell of Columbia, SC, Gloria (Jerry) Chastain of Johnsonville, SC, Cindy (Bill) Grugan of Lexington, SC; her sons, Rayford Altman of Davidson, NC, Billy G. (Ann) Altman of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Harry J. (Linda) Altman of Surfside Beach, SC; her granddaughters, Caroline Hatchell, Ashley Hagenburger, and Catherine Altman; her grandsons, Steve Hatchell, Christopher Altman, Tyson Chastain, Brandon Chastain, Brent Chastain, Will Grugan, Justin Altman, Jonathan Grugan, and Brett Grugan; her sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Meredith Hooks and Mavis Moore; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Everett Dennis, JC Dennis, Malvin Dennis; her sister, Linda Dennis; and her grandson, Harry James "Jamie" Altman, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 330 N. Georgetown Hwy, Johnsonville, SC, 29555. Burial directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to her caregiver, Dawn Carter, for the tender love, care and devotion she provided during the past three years.
