Obituary

Elizabeth "Ann" Powell, 79, widow of Al Virgil "Peanut" Powell passed away at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Ann, a daughter of the late Parnell and Janie Coker Miles was born on April 30, 1946.  Ann, a proud native of Coward, South Carolina, found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  Above all, she cherished the bonds of family. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family….especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed the outdoors and often spent time fishing and picking butterbeans. She enjoyed canning the vegetables that she gathered.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Wanda Powell; a son, Gerald Dewayne Powell; grandchildren:  Clayton (Cristy Eaddy) Cribb, Mindy (Jacob Fincher) Cribb, Alexander Powell, and Ashley Powell;  great-grandchildren: Paisley Cribb, Mason Cribb, Raelyn Cribb, and Adelyn Cribb; a sister, Nell Lee; a brother, Marty (Hope) Miles;  a special sister, Jackie Miles; and numerous more nieces and nephews.  Ann is also survived by Stacie Meddaugh, a loving niece, who the family extends great appreciation to for the care she provided to Ann.

In addition to her parents and husband,  Ann was preceded in death by sisters Gayle Jones and Shelby Ridgeway and brothers Emory Miles and Jack Miles.
