Emma Elizabeth Ilgenfritz Smith, 83, wife of Carlton John Smith, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in a Florence hospital.

Mrs. Emma was born in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Virginia Soliday Ilgenfritz. She owned her own cleaning business and was a member of the Vox United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women's Club and the American Legion Post # 1402 in Inlet, NY.

She enjoyed playing solitaire and mahjong tiles on the computer and camping; but, most of all she loved spending time with friends and family especially the great-grands.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Carlton John Smith; daughters, Debra Jean Young, Cindy Lucille Souders, and Monica Lynn (Dave) Smith; grandchildren, Emmalee (Ron) Poston, Timothy LaPorte, Alyssa Kearns, David Kearns, and Tyler Kearns and great-grandchildren, Carson, Theodore, Cami, Reece, Brynnleigh, and Hayden.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday May 27, 2023 in the Vox Memorial United Methodist Church, 1868 Vox Hwy. Johnsonville, SC 2955 5.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
