Ernestine Rhames Owens, 90, widow of Laverne Owens, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in the McLeod Hospice House.

Mrs. Ernestine was born in Johnsonville, SC, a daughter of the late Ernest and Curtis Venters Rhames. She was retired from the Cafeteria Dept. of Tupperware, a member of the Word of Life Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.

Mrs. Ernestine loved working in the yard and working in the food service.

She is survived by her children, Joe Owens, Nancy (Bruce) Powers, Charlene (Ray) Scott, and Shirley (Mike) Huggins; brothers, Sack Rhames, Bill Rhames; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sisters, Betty Thompson and Eva Ray; brother Bubba Rhames; granddaughter, Tina Huggins; great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Lawson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 17, 2022 in the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 719 N. New Hope Rd., Johnsonville, SC 290555

The family will receive friends following the service.
