Esther Jones De-La Cruz, 62, passed away at her daughter's home in Hemingway, South Carolina on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Esther was a fun-loving individual with a robust laugh that invited the laughter of those around her.  She began driving a school bus while still in high school.  After high school, she continued to serve the children of the community as a driver for many years.  Later, Esther worked for Baxter's in Kingstree, South Carolina as well as Conway Manor Nursing Home in Conway, South Carolina.

Esther was a member of Marsh Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. During her younger years, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing at church. As she grew older, she enjoyed reading a good book.

Esther is survived by her children, Jessica (Rosendo) Velazquez, Robert Earl (Cindy) McDaniel, Erica Dale McDaniel, and Mary Erin (Juan) Vivanco; grandchildren:  Estella (Felipe), Ivan, Roberto (Selena), Lupe (Hugo), Ariella, Luis, Elisa (Franklin), and Juan David; great-grandchildren: Elliana, Nicolas, and Angel.

Esther was predeceased by a granddaughter, Maria Angela Vivanco; maternal grandmother Hallie Marsh; paternal grandparents LB and Geneva Jones; and an uncle HM Marsh.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.  The family will receive friends in the Morris Funeral Home chapel 1 hour prior to the funeral.

Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will follow in the Old Field Cemetery located at 19761 Choppee Road, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.
