Esther Ard Thompson, widow of David Ebert Thompson, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Charleston, SC.

Mrs. Esther was born in Gresham, SC, a daughter of the late Marvin Lee and Myrtis Richardson Ard. She was a retired clerk, a member of the Poplar Hill Free Will Baptist Church and the Hemingway Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and her pets.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (William) Adams; grandchildren, Bobby Allen Richardson, Jr. and Hayley Elizabeth Adams; great grandchildren, Gavin and Harper Richardson.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Iris Thompson; 4 brothers and 1 granddaughter.

Graveside services, directed Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in the Eaddy Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy ford Rd., Johnsonville, SC, 29555.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
