Eva Elizabeth Johnson Powers, 74, of Johnsonville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026.
A daughter of the late Richard and Pauline Douglas Johnson, Eva was born on March 8, 1952, in Georgetown, South Carolina.
Eva worked as a towmotor operator for McCall's HVAC, where she dedicated her career with diligence and skill. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. She had a passion for softball and dancing, activities that showcased her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Eva also enjoyed solving puzzles and was known for her playful sense of humor. She loved being a jokester and took great delight in picking on children in good fun, leaving behind countless smiles and fond memories.
Eva is survived by her sister Vivian Ard and her brother Terry (Susan) Johnson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eva was predeceased by her beloved sons Randall LaWayne "Randy" Powers and James Randall Powers Jr.; James Randall Powers, the father of her sons; and her siblings: Aurbia Lee Johnson, Mary Louise Taylor, Manning Leggette Johnson, Betty Lou Young, Barbara Poston, Ricky Johnson, and William Moses Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway and immediately following the funeral service, will take place in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery located at 800 S Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, South Carolina, 29555.
