Evelyn Nettles Owens, 97, widow of Allen Perry Owens, Sr., passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Evelyn was born in Johnsonville, SC, a daughter of the late Givens and Carrie Marlow Nettles. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with her family but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Timothy) Todd; grandchildren, Charlotte Owens, Joni (Robbie Avant) Abrams, Melissa (Cody) Burrows, and Samantha Todd; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Coleman, Andrea, Hughes, Jaden, and Cody; sister, Dorothy (Ray) Hucks.

She is predeceased by three sons, Gerald A. Owens, A. P. Owens, and C. E. Owens; five sisters and one brother.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.
