Obituary

Ever Lou Hanna Altman, 93, widow of James "Slink" Altman, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025.

Born on February 28, 1932, in Johnsonville, South Carolina, Ever Lou was a daughter of the late Ottoe Wetious (Sr) and Iva Brown Hanna.  She was a lifelong resident of the region she loved. She was a graduate of the Johnsonville High School Class of 1950 as well as a former Miss Myrtle Beach.  She later built a career as a dedicated sales clerk who worked at Lyerly's Variety Store in Johnsonville before spending over two decades at Cato's Department Store.

A soft-spoken Southern lady, Ever Lou was devoted to her family and found joy in simple pleasures. She had a talent for crocheting and knitting, creating beautiful handmade pieces that reflected her patience and care. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, always keeping her mind sharp. Above all, she cherished time spent with her loved ones.

Ever Lou is survived by her son, Dennis (Belle) Altman; grandchildren Dustin (Kendra) Altman; Cawren (Kenny) Brown, and Clinton (Joy) Eaddy; and great-grandchildren McKenzie Altman, Autumn Hanna, Blake Eaddy, and Perry Eaddy.

In addition to her husband, Ever Lou was preceded in death by her daughter, Dimple Diane Altman Eaddy; her brothers OW Hanna, John Hanna, Zuel Hanna, and Marion Hanna; and her sister Leola Hanna Cook.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.  Funeral services will be held following visitation in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on March 27, 2025.  Burial will take place at Eaddy Ford Cemetery located at 481 S Eaddy Ford Road, Johnsonville, South Carolina, 29555 following the funeral service.
