Frances Clisby Rabon Matthews, 84, widow of John Lewis Matthews, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 in a Kingstree hospital.

Mrs. Frances was born in Aynor, SC, a daughter of the late George Harley and Maude Lewis Rabon. She was a retired supervisor for the Hemingway Apparel Company and was a member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening but the love of her life was spending time with her family and riding in her golf cart.

She is survived by her children, John L. (Cassandra) Matthews, Jr. and Karen Matthews Kinard; grandchildren, John Charles (Lauren) Matthews, Eva Matthews (Emily) Lark, Amanda (Jason) Rollins, Brittany (Todd) Currie, Tristan Elliott (Maddie) Kinard; great-grandchildren, Jasper, Gavin, Chloe, Jaydan, Bentlee, Grayson, Ian, Devin; great-great-granddaughter, Olivia; sisters, Mildred Johnson and Grace Cannon; brother, Jay Dee Rabon.

She was predeceased by brother, Herman Rabon; sisters, Eastalean Best, Vonda Lee Carter, and Hazel Euler.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Poplar Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 2380 S. St. Hwy 41/51, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Frances Matthews, to the Vital Aging of Williamsburg County, P.O. Box 450, Kingstree, SC 29556.
