Gertrude Elizabeth Benham Gray, 82, widow of R.L. Gray, Sr., passed away at MUSC Florence on May 19, 2023.

Mrs. Gertrude was born in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Barzilla and Katherine Mamie Herrington Benham.  Mrs. Gertrude enjoyed fishing, playing board games, and painting pictures.

She is survived by her children, Gail (Rudolph) Lynch and Lee (Debbie) Gray; grandchildren:  Chris (Brandi) Holloman, Melissa (Randy) Nurney; Kelly (Josh) McAllister, Sammy (Frankie) Drewry, Donna (Wes) Lynch, Emmie (Kelly) Fipps, Tyler (Bailey) Gray, and Brittany (Justin) Collins; 17 grandchildren; sisters and brother:  Hazel Sheffield, Peggy Stice, and Leon Benham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gertrude was predeceased by sisters Lucille Sammuels and Janice Priddy and brother Gerald Benham.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Burial will be in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, 860 Lake Chapel Road, Johnsonville, SC.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, 213 N. Half-Moon Road, Lake City, SC.
