Hemingway, SC

Gertrude Perry Wall, 85, wife of Derrick Wall, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Gertrude was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Johnny Barr and the late Daisy Perry. She was a homemaker and attended Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising chickens. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, dearly loved her church family, and her dog Lucky.

Surviving is her husband of 70 years, Derrick Wall; children, Allan (Edie) Wall, Carolyn (Greg) Springs, Julie W. Altman, and Erwin Wall; sister, Luretha Williams; special neighbors who were like family, Tommy Newell and Harry Graham; caretakers, Linda Tyler and Janet Haney; special nurses, Stuart Powell and Adaire Calcutt; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of friends.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert Edwin "Rocky" Wall; son-in-law, Scotty Altman.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Eaddy-Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy Ford Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 487 Firestation Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
