Grady Lloyd Owens, 78, passed away at UNC Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC on Monday, January 8, 2024 after a brief illness.

Mr. Grady was born in Georgetown, SC, a son of the late H. Loyd and Cecil Owens.  He retired from PRET Industries, formerly Wellman Industries, Inc., after 40 years of service. Grady was a fan of racing and wrestling who also had a love for watching old westerns.  Above all, Mr. Grady loved spending time with family. He especially cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by daughters Joy (Terry) Johnson and Wanda (John) Collins; grandchildren Torey (Bradley) Chandler, Christopher (Larisa) Collins, and Rachael (Robert) Furr; great-grandchildren McKenna Smith, Jeremiah Furr, and Sydney Furr; and sister-in-law Kathy Joye.

Mr. Grady was predeceased by brothers J.W. Owens and Larry Joye.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on January 13, 2024 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center located at 11904 Pleasant Hill Drive, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
