Harold Gordon "Skip" Howell, 75, went to be with the Lord peacefully on May 27, 2017 at McLeod Hospice House.
Mr. Howell was born November 12, 1941 in Flint, Michigan, to the late Chester F. Howell and Mary Elizabeth Raef Howell. Mr. Howell was a long distance truck driver most of his life, having driven more than 5 million miles from coast to coast. He enjoyed spending time with his family and reminiscing about their many years of family vacations to the mountains and to Long Beach, North Carolina. In 1961 Mr. Howell married his beloved, late wife Patsy Ann DeMoss Howell. To this union, to carry on and cherish their father's memory, are their five children.
Surviving are his daughter, Tammy (James) Jones; sons, Brian (Deborah) Howell; Christopher (Cindy) Howell; Noel (Leah) Howell, and Joel (Lisa) Howell; grandchildren, Cynthia, Michael, James Jr., Brian Jr., Jessica, Grace, Andrew, Jordan, Nathan, Nicholas, Ada, Chris, Hannah, Molly, Kevin, and Maggie; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, Anniston, Izabelle, Emmaleigh, Parker, Chandler, Paisleigh, Kristen and Nicholas; sister, Patricia (Frank) Wohrley of Americus, GA; brother-in-law, Mike (Regina) DeMoss of Burlington, KY. And his special friend Mary Baxley; many nieces and nephews who will miss him and loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 North Main Street Hemingway, SC 29554.
