Hessie Mae Benton, 82. widow of Holland Benton, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Benton was born at Pawleys Island, SC, a daughter of the late Herbert and Moddie Casselman Kirten. She was a retired machine operator. She enjoyed cooking, working with her flowers in her yard, and spending time with her family.

Surviving is her children, Judy Ann (Rev. J. Alvin) Cribb, Lamar (Pam) Benton, James (Annie Mae) Benton, Geraldine (Dale) Cooke, Gloria Cooke, and Dell (Johnny) Moon; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vincent Casselman and Allene Coates

Graveside services will be held at 4 :00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the Piney Forest Cemetery, 18300 County Line Road, Andrews, SC 29510, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the McLeod Hospice, 1203 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.
