Iris K. Venters Altman, 72, wife of Jakey Altman, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at MUSC Charleston.

Iris was born in Johnsonville, SC, a daughter of the late Sam and Theora Perry Venters. She was a retired supervisor in the Express Department of Tupperware, attended Little Star Free Will Baptist Church and was a former member of Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.

She enjoyed traveling to the NC mountains, feeding the hummingbirds, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as other family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jakey Altman and her daughters, Tonya (Scott) Stone and Danielle Mincey (Scot Stone); grandchildren, Hunter Elizabeth (Cameron) Lee, Savannah Mincey (Gabe Culick), Tate Mincey, and Cole Stone and sister, Terry Venters (Denise Ipalitto) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Jim (Bunny) Venters and Randy Venters and sisters, Ginger Griffin, Linda Cribb, and Jean DeCamps.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in the Power Durant Cemetery, 1911 Durant Cemetery Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday October 16, 2023 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Iris Altman to the Power Durant Cemetery, 2210 Durant Cemetery Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
