J. Harold Altman, 84, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 in a Florence hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Harold was born in Vox, SC, a son of the late Samuel C. Altman and the late Crosier Prosser Altman Daniels. He was the owner and operator of State Electric in Hemingway, a member of the Johnsonville United Methodist Church, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, a lifetime member of the Johnsonville Masonic Lodge # 365, and also a member of the Ed Hill Hemingway American Legion Post # 84. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and riding his four wheeler around the farms.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Mary Sue Parsons Altman; daughters, Susan (Ronald) Williams and Janet Altman; grandsons, Clay (Donna) Prosser and Chance Prosser; great-grandchildren, Kenslie and Rimington Prosser; sisters, Billie Faye (Vernot) Altman and Jean McKenzie.
He was predeceased by two sons, Randall Briley Altman and Samuel Harold Altman.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday February 18, 2018 in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Old Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorials may be made to the McLeod Cancer Center, 555 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.
