JACK WALTER "JACKIE" COCKFIELD

Jack Walter "Jackie" Cockfield, 92, husband of the late Enid C. Cockfield died Friday May 5, 2023 at The Presbyterian Home.

He was born in Florence, SC, son of the late Jack Cockfield and Mildred Hemingway Cockfield. He was a member of Hemingway First Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, Usher and a Member of the Men's Club. He graduated from Hemingway High School and attended The University of Georgia College of Agriculture. He was a United States 3 ^rd Division Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Hemingway American Legion Post #84. He was an accomplished Businessman, owner of Hemingway Locker Plant, Co-owner of Big D's B-B-Q and H & C Fishery of Murrells Inlet, but his love was Farming. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends gardening, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his children, Jack "Jay" Walter (Kathy) Cockfield, Jr., Flynn Walton (Costa) Cockfield, Elizabeth "Libby" Cockfield (Alex) Bryant; Grandchildren, Courtney Cockfield (Todd) Avant, Caroline Cockfield (Nick) Stomski, Flynn Walton "Walt" (Meagan) Cockfield, Jr., Dr. Savannah Cockfield (Scott) Rogers, Dr. Jacquelyn Elizabeth Bryant, Alexander McCorkle "Mackie" (Karen) Bryant III, and seven Great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at The Hemingway First Methodist Church, 201 E. Broad Street, Hemingway, SC, directed by Morris Funeral Home. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in The Old Johnsonville Cemetery.

Family will receive Friends from 2 to 3 Monday, May 8 in the Hemingway First Methodist Church Sanctuary.
