James E. Cox, Jr., 63, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Tidelands hospital in Georgetown, SC.

Buddy was born at Fort Lee, VA, a son of the late James Earl Cox, Sr. and the late Leila V. Thompson Cox Buhrman and he was raised by his late step father, Gerald F. Buhrman.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Karen Joy Mason; sisters, Louise Cox Simons and Barbara Cox Oltman; nieces and nephews, Heather Simons Vabalitis, Christie Simons Stout, Kimberly Simons Oldenburg; Gerald Simons, and Michelle Cook; great nieces and great nephews, Deidre Weist, Mya Das, Hunter Oldenburg, Cole Stout, Austin Das, and Sherman Oldenburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway, SC with burial in the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 86 Williams Hill Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorials may be made to the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 86 Williams Hill Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.
