Hemingway, SC

James McLaurin Joy (Mack),52, husband of Donna Joy, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in a Kingstree hospital.

McLaurin was born in Georgetown, SC, a son of the late Douglas G. and Geraldine Pope Joy. He was the owner and operator of Farmers Grain and Milling Co. in Andrews, SC, a member of the PKD Foundation, and he was also a member of Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He enjoyed farming, working, and he loved the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Donna Cox Joy; daughters, Macy (Christopher) McGee, Madeline (Trey Cribb) Joy, and Mackenzie (Nick Marlowe) Joy; brother, Doug Joy; sister, Mary Ann (Robin) Huggins; sisters-in-law, Debra C. (Lonnie) Poole, Karen C. Altman, and Sonja C. (Steve) Nexsen; brother-in-law, Kenny (Kathy) Cox; father and mother-in-law, Lonnie Wayne and Margie Cox; Tommy Metzger who was like a son to him and many nieces and nephews, as well as his most precious treasures, his two granddaughters, Evelyn and Hollyn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, March 18, 2022 in the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1573 Cowhead Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.
