James "Frenchfry"
Lauderback
Oct 9, 1960 — Jun 9, 2026
Johnsonville
James "Frenchfry" Lauderback, 65, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at his son's home in Johnsonville, South Carolina. Frenchfry, as he was known to all who knew him, "lived life the way he lived it and had the best life he wanted."
A son of the late Jimmy Lauderback and Brenda Hatmaker Webb, James was born on October 9, 1960 in Bluefield, Virginia. After moving to Johnsonville, South Carolina; James attended Florence School District Five schools. Over the years, he developed a love for working on cars; however, he got his greatest enjoyment from socializing with the friends he made as he lived the remainder of his life in the rural community that he called home.
Those who knew Frenchfry knew that he was especially fond of the Lord Calvert; however, on his last trip to the hospital, he told his son, "Son, I'm tired. I'm not living anymore. I'm suffering. I've made my peace with THE LORD….and not the Lord Calvert. I'm good to go anytime."
James is survived by his children: Jerry (Alicia) Lauderback, Teresa Lauderback, Amanda (Jotham) Hunt, Christian (Kevin) Williams, John Webb, and James Webb.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by a son, Phillip Webb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in James' memory to Morris Funeral Home, PO 158, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.
