James Ellis Owens, 62, widower of Cathy Davis Owens, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 in a Florence hospital.
Mr. James was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late James Henderson and Eliza Jeanette Thompson Owens. He was a semi-truck driver and a former member of the SC National Guard.
Surviving are his children, Ronald "Buddy" (Brenda) Owens, Kerri O. (Martin) Azara, Justin Owens, and Shelly O. (Stephen) Newell; twin brother, Jessie E. (Miranda) Owens; sisters, Sheila O. (Gene) Cribb and Camellia O. (Phillip) Flory; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 30, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 800 S. Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday October 29, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
The family will be at the home of Jessie Owens, 675 Williams Hill Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.
