JAMES THOMAS "TOMMY" McALISTER

James Thomas "Tommy" McAlister, 61, husband of Debbie Hanna McAlister, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 in the MUSC Florence Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Tommy was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Leon and Carrie Faye Hanna Prosser. He was a retired mechanic for the L Dean Weaver Construction Co., and attended the Unity Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie Hanna McAlister; children, Shannon (Betsy) McAlister and Stacey (Tracy) Hartfield; grandchildren, Gracelynn McAlister, Wylie Hartfield, Bentley Hartfield, Piper McAlister, and Perri McAlister; brother, Dean (Nancy) McAlister; sisters, Gen (Jack) McKinley, Shirley (Steve) Bitters, and Cindy Prosser.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joe McAlister.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be at 4 P.M. Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, 860 Lake Chapel Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
