James E. Willis, 59, husband of Hope Avant Willis, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at his home after an illness.

James was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Clarence Edward and Belvagene Wilson Willis. He was retired from the Kingstree Unit of the SC National Guard and also worked for Stuckey Farm Supply as a tractor mechanic.

He enjoyed farming, working on tractors but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Scarlet Hope Willis; children, Beverly D. (Willis)  and James B. Willis; brothers, Francis R. "Frank" (Darlene) Willis and Thomas G. Willis; grandchildren; Jaeden, Johnis Leah and John Thomas, nephew; Jay Frank (Holly) Willis; niece, Jan (Jason) Causey.

He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Wilson "Porky" Willis.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1760 Pope Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1760 Pope Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorial may be in honor of James E. Willis to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1760 Pope Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.
