Janet Love Byrd, 66, wife of Elvis Byrd, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, at a Lake City hospital.

Janet was born on December 14, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter of the late James Emerson Love and Dorothy Louise Messer. She was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and a member of Leo Church of God. She worked as an operator at Tupperware for over 10 years before joining the Johnsonville Rescue Squad where she served as an emergency medical technician for over 28 years. She enjoyed hunting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Elvis Byrd; children, Wade (Sheila) Harrell, Christy (Randy) Evans, Ashley Harrell, Phillip Eric Byrd, and Edward Wheeler Byrd; step-sons, Phillip Andrew Byrd, Randy Byrd, and Robert Paul Byrd; 16 grandchildren, including Laney Evans and Riley Evans; 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Betty Caulder, John (Brenda) Love, Julie (John) Hayes, and Marilyn (Tony) Shelley.

She was predeceased by brothers James Love II and Charles Love.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, September 7, 2020, in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be private.

The family will receive friends from 9:30AM until 11 AM on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Morris Funeral Home, 416 North Main Street, Hemingway, SC 29554.
