Obituary

Jennifer Iva Burbage Powell, 50, wife of James “Champ” Allen Survay Powell, Jr, of Andrews, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at her home in Andrews, South Carolina.

Born on May 1, 1976, in Georgetown, South Carolina, Jennifer was the daughter of the late James William Burbage and Debbie Jean Burbage.

Jennifer was a homemaker who loved tending the house and family. Her days were centered on the people closest to her, and she found happiness in the routines of home life and in time shared with those she loved. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandbabies, a part of life that remained close to her heart.

She also found pleasure in simple pastimes. A lover of the outdoors, Jennifer especially enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and swimming. During her quiet time, Jennifer liked reading a variety of Stephen King books. Enjoying their unique ugliness, she also enjoyed collecting gnomes. Jennifer also spent many hours playing video games. Her favorite being MineCraft which she played with daughter Stephany and her husband.

In addition to her loving husband of 30 years, Jennifer is survived by her mother, Debbie Jean Burbage; daughters, Candice Powell and Stephany Powell; her son, Leland (Sadie Young) Powell; her grandchildren, Harley Quinn, Daphne Williams, and Leon Williams; and her siblings, James Burbage, Jessie Burbage, Jackie West, Tina Sumter, and Ashley Forbes.

Jennifer was predeceased by her father and a brother, Barney Burbage.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2026 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, PO Box 158, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
